Install & Activate

About two minutes · Windows & Mac

You'll need two things from your purchase e-mail: the installer for your computer, and the Gmail address your license is registered to.

On Windows

  1. Run the installer (.exe).
  2. If you see a blue "Windows protected your PC" box, click "More info" → "Run anyway." This is normal for a new app and stops once it builds reputation.
  3. Finish installing and open eFiling Assistant from the Start menu.
Want to skip the warning entirely? Right-click the installer → Properties → tick “Unblock” at the bottom → OK. Or in PowerShell: Get-ChildItem "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\eFiling*Assistant*" | Unblock-File

On a Mac

  1. Open the .dmg and drag eFiling Assistant into Applications.
  2. Open it once from Applications, then click Done on the warning. (This is what makes the unlock button appear — do the next step right after.)
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and find the Security section. Just below "Allow applications from," you'll see "eFiling Assistant was blocked…" with an "Open Anyway" button — click it and confirm. It opens and stays trusted afterward.
Don't see the "Open Anyway" button, still blocked, or it says "damaged"? Open the Terminal app, paste this one line, press Return, then open the app — this always works: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/eFiling Assistant.app"

  1. Click Continue with Google and sign in with the Gmail address you bought eFiling Assistant under — this should be the professional e-mail of record you file from. Your access is tied to this address.
  2. The first time, Google may say "Google hasn't verified this app." Click Advanced → "Go to eFiling Assistant", then allow it to send e-mail on your behalf. The app can only send — it can never read your inbox.
  3. That's it — you're in, and you won't have to sign in again on this computer.
